SALDA LAKE+PAMUKKALE

SALDA LAKE+PAMUKKALE

Pamukkale translates as Cotton Castle - white terraces of limestone. Declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site - a natural wonder on a global scale. The terraced area extends around the ancient city of Hierapolis, which became famous for its mineral waters. It is where Cleopatra herself came to take her rejuvenating bath. Cleopatra's Pool in the centre of Hierapolis, until today, gives the opportunity to swim, rejuvenate and enjoy the warm (36,6C*) mineral water. We will also visit Burdur, the snow-white beach of Salda Lake, with clear water. It is Turkey's deepest lake (185 m deep) and the Salda holds a high concentration of Magnesium and Calcium, hence the wonderful turquoise colour of the water like the Maldives. The mud from the Salda bed is used as a face and body mask, presumably with beneficial properties for your skin.
